What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of text sent to your web browser by a website you visit. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the Site or a third-party to recognize you and make your next visit easier and the Site more useful to you.
Cookies can be "persistent" or "session" cookies.
Persistent cookies are stored on your browser cache or mobile device until you choose to delete them, and otherwise typically delete themselves at expiration.
Session cookies are necessary to authenticate the user connection and secure communications.
When you use and access the Site we may place several cookies files in your web browser.
We use both session and persistent cookies on the Site and we use different types of cookies to run the Site:
- Essential cookies. We use essential cookies to authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user connections.
- Non-essential cookies. We use non-essential cookies to remember previously entered details, remember certain information about your preferences for viewing the Site, and allow us to recognise you each time you return.
Non-essential cookies are used for the following legitimate business purposes:
- to enable certain functions of the Site,
- to provide analytics,
- to store your data entry form preferences,
- to track the responsiveness of our marketing activities.
In addition to our own cookies, we may also use various third-parties services which require cookies to undertake functions such as reporting usage statistics and performance of the Site, allowing us to recognise you each time you return, as well as for conducting market surveys.
The information generated by Third Party cookies about your use of our Site (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by servers operated by each Third-party provider.
Third Parties that may pass tracking information to Milestone Group via cookies include:
- Google Ads
- Bing Ads
Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”) also places cookies on your computer, to enable Google to provide us with website activity reports.
Google uses this data only to provide us with information on how users use our website and does not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
Google Analytics Opt-out
You may refuse Google Analytics cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser or by downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Plug-in provided by Google.
Act-On Marketing Automation Platform
Act-On, a Marketing Automation software-as-a-service provided by Act-On Software, Inc. (“Act-On”) also places cookies on your computer to enable Act-On to provide us with campaign activity reports.
Act-On uses this data only to provide us with information on how users respond to our digital marketing campaigns and to recognise you each time you return to the Site.
Act-On Marketing Automation Opt-out
You may refuse Act-On cookies by choosing the Opt-Out popup on the Site at the time of your first visit.
When you choose to Opt-Out, we disable Third Party tracking as listed in the above section.
What are your choices regarding cookies?
In addition, when you access the Site, you can change your web browser's settings to reflect your cookie preferences for cookies directly from the site or for third-party cookies. Each browser is a little different, but usually these settings are under the 'options' or 'preferences' menu.
